In the previous screen you encountered my How & Why I Write essay. In this piece, my classmates and I were supposed to reflect upon our motivations for writing and explore the various ways and mediums through which we communicate. Click on the files below for more information about this project and the stages of its development.

About This Site

Here is the prompt for the assignment.

In the next two tabs, you can explore my writing processes for the other two projects of this semester.

Then, in the "other writings" tab, you can navigate through other work that I have done, in this course and in others at Michigan.

For those of you who are not familiar with it, the e-portfolio is the major project of the writing minor's gateway course at the University of Michigan. Through this project, each student displays and reflects upon the work that he or she has done over the span of the semester.

For me, the writing process is a very messy one. It is not a linear progression of drafts that slowly become more and more "finished," but rather an abstact tangle of thoughts and conversations, written words and drawings.

In my e-portfolio I want to do my best to convey - through language, design, and artifacts - the beautiful chaos that is the writing process for me.

Here is my author's note for my final project (the one you saw on the landing page), in which I discuss my satisfactions and grievances with the end result.

This document contains my immediate reflections after reading the prompt.
